Taxis in Bushbury, Fallings Park and North Wolverhampton

A local guide to taxis in Bushbury, Fordhouses, Pendeford, Fallings Park, Low Hill, Scotlands and Ashmore Park, from our Raynor Road base in Wednesfield.

A Wednesfield Cars driver collecting a passenger in north Wolverhampton

Most of the north of Wolverhampton is a short drive from our office. Wednesfield Cars has run from the same base on Raynor Road since 1991, and the residential areas between there, the Cannock Road and the M54 have been on our patch for all of that time.

Each of these areas has its own page on the site, with the pickup spots, the usual journeys and the drive times. This guide pulls them together in one place, with a short section on each, so you can see how a booking works wherever you are in the north of the city.

Taxis in Bushbury and the M54 commuter belt

Bushbury covers Bushbury Hill, Park Village and the streets around Showell Road and Bushbury Lane. Its demand starts early. Park Village pickups concentrate on Showell Road in the 06:00 to 07:00 commuter window, heading for M54 Junction 2, which is around four minutes away. Wolverhampton city centre is around ten minutes via Stafford Road, and Wednesfield around eight via Bushbury Lane.

The school run around Northicote School makes a second tight cluster on weekdays. The full picture, with pickup spots, is on the taxi in Bushbury page.

Taxis in Fordhouses, along Stafford Road

Fordhouses sits north of Bushbury on the same M54 corridor. Pickups come in via Stafford Road and Three Tuns Lane, and the motorway slip is around three minutes from the centre of the area. The morning commuter cluster runs from about 06:00 to 07:30, and early-shift pickups at Fordhouses Industrial Estate start from 06:00 most weekdays. The city centre is around twelve minutes down Stafford Road.

The middle of the day is quieter, and the commuter wave comes back between 17:00 and 19:00. See the taxis in Fordhouses page for the pickup points.

Taxis in Pendeford, from the business park to Pendeford Lane

Pendeford is the north-west edge of our patch, beyond Bushbury. The pattern here is set by work. Pendeford Business Park has an early-shift cluster from about 05:30, and almost all of those journeys are booked the night before. Residential pickups off Pendeford Lane are steadier through the day but lower in volume than Bushbury or Fordhouses.

The city centre is around thirteen minutes via Pendeford Lane, and M54 Junction 2 around five. If your shift starts before the buses do, the Pendeford taxi page has the detail, and our guide to 24 hour taxis in Wolverhampton covers early starts.

Taxis in Fallings Park, around Showell Circus

Fallings Park takes in Park Hall and the Cannock Road corridor, with Showell Circus as the junction most of our cars arrive by. Weekday mornings are school runs. Friday and Saturday evenings are busier, with the working men's club generating pickups from about 18:00 to 23:00.

Wednesfield is around four minutes away and the city centre around eight via Cannock Road. The taxi in Fallings Park page lists the regular pickup points.

Taxis in Low Hill, between Showell Road and Cannock Road

Low Hill is a residential area in the north of the city, next to Bushbury. Pickups concentrate on Showell Road and around the Northwood Park edge, with a morning commuter cluster from about 06:30 to 08:30, most of it booked the night before. Cannock Road is the spine: south for the city centre, around eight minutes away, and north for the M54.

There is a school-run cluster around the local primaries too. Our page on Low Hill taxis has the rest.

Taxis in Scotlands, between Bushbury and Wednesfield

Scotlands sits between Bushbury and Wednesfield, a residential cluster around the Scotlands Estate. Pickups concentrate on the Showell Circus side and the Cannock Road frontage, with school-run clusters from the local primaries at 08:15 and 15:00. Evenings split between nights out in the city centre and pre-booked airport runs.

Park Hall Road gets you to Wednesfield in around five minutes, and the city centre is around nine minutes via Cannock Road. The taxi in Scotlands page covers it in full.

Taxis in Ashmore Park, minutes from our base

Ashmore Park is a few minutes from the Raynor Road office, and Wednesfield is around four minutes away. Pickups run along Griffiths Drive and around the Ashmore Park shops, with the school run around Coppice Performing Arts School and the local primaries. Bentley Bridge Retail Park is around five minutes away.

It is a residential, school-run, town-trip area, and our Ashmore Park taxis page shows the pickup spots. Parents may also find our guide to the school run in Wednesfield useful.

WV10 and WV11 postcodes

If you think of the area by postcode rather than by name, most of this guide sits in two districts. WV10 takes in Low Hill, Bushbury, Fordhouses and Fallings Park, along with part of Wednesfield, which is where our office is. WV11 covers Wednesfield and Ashmore Park. Pendeford falls in WV9.

Wherever the postcode, the booking is the same, and the whole covered patch is on the areas we cover page.

Choosing the right car for the journey

Across all of these areas you can ask for one of four vehicle types: Saloon, Estate, Pet-Friendly or Executive. Saloons handle most of the school-run and commuter work. Estates take the airport runs where the luggage is heavy, which matters on the M54 side because so many airport journeys start there. Pet-Friendly cars are booked steadily across the residential areas, and our pet-friendly taxi guide explains how to ask for one.

Booking 24 hours or more ahead guarantees the vehicle you choose. Same-day bookings always work, because the office is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
