Wednesfield Cars and Wolves: 35 Years of Partnership

On 20 August 2026, Wolves announced that their partnership with Wednesfield Cars has been extended for the 2026/27 season, marking 35 years together. In the club's announcement, Wolves described it as their "longest standing partnership".

For a family-run taxi firm from Wednesfield, that is quite something. Here is a look back at how the partnership works, what it means for fans, and how to get to Molineux with us this season.

35 years of getting Wolves fans to Molineux

Wednesfield Cars has been the official taxi service of Wolverhampton Wanderers since 1991, the year the business started. In that time we have completed more than a million journeys across the borough, and every season we get thousands of fans to and from Molineux.

Plenty has changed since 1991, not least that most people now book through an app rather than picking up the phone. The partnership has been the one constant throughout.

More than match days

The partnership goes well beyond getting supporters to the ground. As the club's announcement explains, Wednesfield Cars also provides transport for the Wolves academy and the women's first team.

We also support the Wolves Foundation, the club's charity, which works across the city. For a local business that has grown up alongside the club, playing a small part in that community work matters to us.

What the club and our owner said

Wolves' Head of Partnerships, Dave Thomson, called 35 years a remarkable milestone, and said it reflected the trust, commitment and support that have built the partnership over four decades.

Jim Sharma, owner of Wednesfield Cars, said our family business has "proudly supported the club, the academy and the wider Wolverhampton Community" for 35 years.

Match day with Wednesfield Cars

If you are heading to Molineux this season, here is how to make it easy:

• Pre-book in the app. Book 24 hours or more ahead to guarantee your pickup window. On busy match days, leaving it to the last minute is the riskiest option.
• Know where to meet. App users get priority pickup, and your driver waits at the agreed Molineux gate, holding your name.
• Travelling as a group? Groups of four often choose an estate for the extra boot space.
• Visiting fans heading back by train? Pre-book a post-match taxi to Wolverhampton station, so you are not queuing for a lift after the final whistle.
